None of this started as a product. Each service began as a problem encountered on service, solved for one hospital or one practice, and then turned into something another program could use.
Where RC Surgical Consulting came from
RC Surgical Consulting, LLC was founded by Carlos Rodriguez, DO, a board-certified general surgeon in Fort Worth, Texas, with more than 25 years in practice. He built his own patient-education site first, learned every lesson the hard way, and turned that process into a service for other physicians.
The consulting work followed the same path. Three emergency general surgery programs stood up from nothing. Two verifications completed as the EGS medical director, at two different institutions. A registry built because the existing options did not fit how the service actually ran.
That matters for one reason: your project will be handled by someone who knows the difference between marketing copy and patient education, understands what patients actually ask in clinic, knows what a review team looks for, and respects what you can and cannot say online. Web developers can build you a website. Consultants can sell you a framework. We have been the one on call.
How we work
One surgeon, one build system, no account managers and no offshore build team. That is a deliberate limit rather than a growth stage we are embarrassed about — it is why the person who writes your condition guides is the person who understands them, and it is why we take on non-medical projects selectively rather than as a matter of course.
It also means we say no to things. Same-week turnaround, e-commerce with real inventory, projects that need a booking or payment engine: those are legitimate needs and there are people who do them well. Telling you quickly is more useful than a discovery call that ends the same way.
What we will not do
We will not sell a rebuild to a practice that needs a refresh. We will not publish clinical content you have not verified. We will not hold your domain, your hosting or your files — every account is created in your name from the start, and if you leave, everything stays yours with no buyout and no export fee. And we will not put a client’s name or logo on this website without their permission.

Most physician websites are marketing sites: stock photos, generic copy, and a contact form nobody monitors. We build the opposite. A site whose entire purpose is to teach your patients what they need to know before and after they see you, in plain language, at a reading level they can actually use.
A patient who understands their condition arrives at the consultation calmer, asks better questions, and trusts the plan.
That philosophy came from practice, not theory. Our first site is the founder’s own: a general surgery practice site with condition guides, downloadable patient handouts, recovery timelines, an FAQ built from real office questions, and a weekly education blog with cited references. Patients use it. Referring providers use it. It works because it teaches.
The same instinct drives the rest of the work. A registry is only useful if the people entering data can see why it matters. A verification review goes well when a program can explain itself clearly. A good talk changes what somebody does on Monday.
And it is 100% customizable and completely yours. Style, color palette, interaction, structure, and above all voice: every project is built from scratch around one physician or one program. We do not use templates that make every doctor sound the same, and you own the domain, the hosting account, and every file.
